Shining Moments : April 28th – May 4th
Happy May everyone! Seriously, where has this year gone?! We’re already 5/12 months into the year. At least Spring is definitely here and has decided to stay so I am very grateful for that (it’s even already gotten into the low to mid 80s here – should be an interesting Summer temperature wise). Let’s keep on going with the gratitude list, it’s time for the first installment of May’s Shining Moments. If you weren’t aware, May 4th is basically National Star Wars Day: “May the Fourth Be With You” (Get it? “May the Force with You”) I noticed we were missing several of our Star Wars movies (could only…

Gratitude & Mindset, Let's Get Real, Life is Worth Living For, Love With all of Your Heart, Shining Moments (Weekly Gratitude & Reflection)
Shining Moments (1/13 – 1/19)
Hello everyone! Can you believe January is halfway over? Where did it go?! It’s that time again for another edition of Shining Moments – weekly gratitude awareness and reflection. This week was more of a struggle for me, felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster all week. #Honestycheck: You know it gets rough when you’re crying while eating pizza at the same time. Shining Moments – Airport greeting (Sunday and Monday) went really well, the group was super duper nice (18 hours spent at the airport lol) – Got to train a coworker on her first Airport greeting, she did great and managed several on her own…

Happy First Day of Summer!
Happy First Day of Summer everyone! It’s officially here! Today marks the LONGEST day of the year and the beginning of the fun in the sun days. Graduations are over, school is out and it’s hot, hot, hot! Here in Charleston, we’ve been in the upper 80s to high 90s since before Memorial Day in May, but these past 2 days have had heat indexes of about 107 – 110. Usually I create a Summer schedule with each day having its own theme (check out last year’s Summer post here) but this year I’ve picked out 100 activities of my own creation/thoughts (there are SO many bucket lists on Pinterest). I’ve…

June’s Goals ~ Reaching For the Stars
Happy first day of June and welcome to this month’s edition of Reaching for the Stars! I hope that you had a great Memorial Day holiday (and an unofficial start to Summer!) Summer is all about adventure and growth. Let’s recap what May’s Goals where before we dive into June’s: Read 4 books this month – one of those for the Shield Sisters Initiative May Book Club Change up the meal planning now that it’s not so cold – less hearty/comfort food Go for a day trip around town & take as many pictures to my heart’s content Watch my plants bloom (I have 2 types of Pentas, a marigold & several Moss Roses)…

Happy Armed Forces Day
Happy Saturday everyone and Happy Armed Forces Day. Today marks a military holiday of the 3rd Saturday in May (which btw May is Military Month!), where we celebrate our active duty military forces. With Memorial Day right around the corner (where we celebrate our fallen forces), it’s easy to get mixed up. Armed Forces day = Currently serving = 3rd Saturday of May Memorial Day = Have died during service = last Monday of May Veterans Day = Have previously served = November 11th Now that you know the difference, how can you honor our military forces (no matter the holiday)? Check out some of these ideas: A simple “Thank…

What I learned while watching Beauty and the Beast
Life has a funny way of presenting things to us, doesn’t it? One of my biggest hurdles lately is feeling that I’m not contributing too much and not being the type of influencer that I dream to be. Anybody there with me? In attempts to make inspirational words flow, I put on a movie in the background hoping that it would keep me focused enough to write. Ironically, the movie I put in for background became my reason to write and gained some clarity at the same time: Beauty and the Beast. A tale as old as time right? The Beauty and the Beast animated version came out…

Mid Week Gratitude Check In
Happy Thursday everyone! I’m a day late doing a mid week gratitude check in, but I just got back in town yesterday. With Hurricane Irma doing very weird things and also being a family member’s birthday, we ended up going out of town to evacuate just in case and also to celebrate a birthday. Literal Hurricane/birthday party haha. Lots of emotions this week, but I am grateful for this experience. Without further ado, here is this week’s mid week gratitude check in… Things I’m Grateful For: Everyone I know that would/have been impacted by Irma is safe No damage to our home Power apparently only seemed to be off…
