Shining Moments: July 31st-August 6th, 2022
This week has been about recovery this week. I am feeling much better, but Shingles is no joke. I was still out of work for part of the week, but work was very supportive about my recovery time. This week’s edition is a little longer than last week, so enjoy… Shining Moments – Got to spend time with Babe on Sunday as I was still out for work and he was off that day. It was a nice chill day – we went grocery shopping & went to Lowes to look at getting a trellis for my super growing raspberry plant – Got a 2nd bird feeder while at…

Self Care Project
Self Care… it’s a word/phrase we hear so often and as much as it might be “over-used”, it really is an important concept. You can’t pour anything from an empty cup. It’s been a crazy year already with job changes, economy ebbs & flows (yay gas & food prices), important milestones and anniversaries coming up, so I knew I needed to really evaluate where I was in life and where I wanted to be. I have a tendency to go big (and not start off small) and 99% of the time, those lofty dreams and goals taper off and reality kicks in. Since one of the reasons why I decided…

Shining Moments April 19th – 25th, 2020
April is almost wrapping up and I’m glad that it didn’t linger like March. I have kept myself busy by working what hours I can get at what is normally my full-time job (presently working about 20-25 hours), still doing UberEats deliveries and some continuing education. Shining Moments – Still working at the hotel – % has dropped, but we’re still maintaining – Unfortunately, someone on the team was let go. I am sad for this, but the silver lining is there are some more hours for the team to share. I am grateful for the hours that my coworkers and I are able to share so that we…

Shining Moments – April 12th – 18th, 2020
I hope that everyone had a good Easter weekend. I can’t get over how we are already halfway through April?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Not that I’m complaining, but we’re already into the 2nd quarter of the year! This April week’s edition is just about the moments, no updates or reflection this week. Shining Moments – Still working (considered an essential) at the hotel – Still working UberEats – the Easter weekend + everyone’s April bills put a dent in it, but I’m hoping once everyone’s stimulus checks start rolling in, there will be more orders to deliver. – Easter baskets for the boys were a big hit! At least April had a little…

Shining Moments March 22nd – 28th, 2020
Hello once again! March is almost over and WHAT. A. MONTH. #understatementoftheyear. For my loyal weekly readers, sorry this post is a little late. Sunday (the usual day) was computer and website issues. Yesterday ended up being a busier day than expected. I thank you for keeping up with me. This week had a lot of emotions behind it, but some really sweet moments too. Shining Moments – Found new face clay masks – amethyst, marble, holographic – While I was at Walmart, I picked up 2 tanks for $1 each and a Henley long sleeve shirt for $5 – I also found a 1.5 inch binder that I…

32 Birthdays & 32 things
So today marks the day I’ve been on this Earth for 32 years… How crazy right? **No one believes I’m 32, everyone guesses about 25-28. Guess I’m aging gracefully…like a fine wine… haha** This year, I wanted to do something special. My birthday (2/17) is always a weird time: – 3 days after Valentine’s Day (but yay for discounted candy!) – tax prep season – usually freaking cold – everyone is sick/getting over being sick So since it’s 2020 + something different + it’s another birthday + turning 32 (oddly inspired by 32 flavors of ice cream haha), I wanted to do a Birthday Year bucket list. I’ve been struggling…

Halfway There and No Where
Anybody else feel that way? Halfway somewhere, halfway done with something, but yet not there? For me, it’s incredibly frustrating! They said it’s hard to get started, but I feel that it’s harder to keep up that momentum and keeping going. Take a look at New Year Resolutions – people make them, get going and get some momentum and then… something happens. They say it takes 21 days to make a habit and 90 days to make a lifestyle. I myself struggle quite often with this. I am very bad about usually doing great for 1-2 weeks and then a distraction happens. Either short or long term, simply my motivation…
