Happy First Day of Summer!
Happy First Day of Summer everyone! It’s officially here! Today marks the LONGEST day of the year and the beginning of the fun in the sun days. Graduations are over, school is out and it’s hot, hot, hot! Here in Charleston, we’ve been in the upper 80s to high 90s since before Memorial Day in May, but these past 2 days have had heat indexes of about 107 – 110. Usually I create a Summer schedule with each day having its own theme (check out last year’s Summer post here) but this year I’ve picked out 100 activities of my own creation/thoughts (there are SO many bucket lists on Pinterest). I’ve…

Hello everyone, I hope that you had another great week! It’s that time again for Shining Moments, a weekly gratitude overview and reflection. Got to see a gorgeous Great Dane while out doing UberEats delivery. Found out family is coming into town in early August – so stoked! Had an “informal/how…

Memorial Day
If you aren’t aware, May is Military Appreciation Month – from military children, to Armed Forces day/week, to Memorial Day. The last Monday in May is celebrated as Memorial Day, a day we honor those service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and have fallen in the line of duty. Today especially, but also every day, I would like to thank every single service member who has sacrificed in order so that we (as a nation) doesn’t have to. Today I would like to thank them for giving me provision of the rights and freedoms that I have today whether or not I exercise them (another right and…

Shining Moments – May 2018 (Week 4)
Hello everyone, I hope that you had another great week! It’s that time again for Shining Moments, a weekly roundup of gratitude, awesomeness and reflection. Had not just 1, but 2 guys help me with my car – had a headlight go out and since this car is still so new to me, I had no idea what I was doing lol. Just when I thought I was going to have to call Dad, 2 different guys came and helped me. So thankful At our apartment laundry complex, a woman approached me, saying that she had an odd question to ask. Her daughter’s bike needed air, but the air…

Happy Armed Forces Day
Happy Saturday everyone and Happy Armed Forces Day. Today marks a military holiday of the 3rd Saturday in May (which btw May is Military Month!), where we celebrate our active duty military forces. With Memorial Day right around the corner (where we celebrate our fallen forces), it’s easy to get mixed up. Armed Forces day = Currently serving = 3rd Saturday of May Memorial Day = Have died during service = last Monday of May Veterans Day = Have previously served = November 11th Now that you know the difference, how can you honor our military forces (no matter the holiday)? Check out some of these ideas: A simple “Thank…
