Where's the Apple (Keep the Doctor away)
Pair up with lack of self love and a dash of over-professionalism and it’s easy to get tired and eventually get sick. Add someone coughing on you or the flu being passed around and it makes for a fun old time, so these’ll be tips on how to keep the doctor away and keep your health maintained.

Shining Moments: July 24th-30th, 2022
Well this week was certainly something else. I got diagnosed with Shingles (basically the adult version of chickenpox but SO much worse). It’s my first time having it and I’m not a fan. This week’s list is smaller, but enjoy… Shining Moments – Got to go to a Celebratory/Moving Away party with Babe’s coworkers at Senor Tequila before the shingles hit hard/got the diagnosis of what it was. I got the Enchiladas Super Rancheras (5 different types of enchiladas: beef, chicken, shredded beef, bean & a cheese)- the food was good & we all had a great time – Babe was SO helpful this week as I was SUPER…

Welcoming 2022 (Word of the Year, Goals & Intentions)
Happy New Year everyone! 2021 sure flew by and good riddance!!!! Like the meme says: But seriously. It’s been no cakewalk for anybody and straight up hell for some. Despite what category you find yourself in, I hope that you will take the time to truly reflect on what has recently happened, how we’ve reacted (either good or bad), take a deep breath, woosaw/woosah a little bit and then look forward to 2022 with even the littlest and tiniest shred of hope. Keeping with the tradition of deciding on a word for the year and what goals/intentions I want to pursue, I have made my decisions earlier than usual.…

Shining Moments April 19th – 25th, 2020
April is almost wrapping up and I’m glad that it didn’t linger like March. I have kept myself busy by working what hours I can get at what is normally my full-time job (presently working about 20-25 hours), still doing UberEats deliveries and some continuing education. Shining Moments – Still working at the hotel – % has dropped, but we’re still maintaining – Unfortunately, someone on the team was let go. I am sad for this, but the silver lining is there are some more hours for the team to share. I am grateful for the hours that my coworkers and I are able to share so that we…

Shining Moments March 15th – 21st, 2020
Hello everyone, how are you doing? By now I’m sure almost everyone has been in some sort of quarantine – whether self imposed to be safe for yourself/your families, imposed by the City and State wide government or because of actually being sick. I know that I don’t need to reiterate all of the things we’ve had to update/change/cancel. We’re seriously living in an age of FOMO – Fear of Missing Out. Sure this completely blows, but let’s put it into perspective – there are 195 countries (that are recognized by the United Nations) and according to WHO (World Health Organization), there are 184 countries/territories/etc that have at least 1…

Shining Moments: March 8th – 14th, 2020
Hello everyone! I know that right now, everywhere is a hot mess. The coronavirus sure is making some chaos, panic and other unfun things. We are all being hounded by messages of “It’s a [global] pandemic,” “Stock up,” “Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds,” “Sanitize everything,” and many more messages. All of these are definitely important, however, it’s in times like this that we are to be vigilant, but not in a panic. It is times like this, we must exercise the goodness of our humanity: – If you have a neighbor struggling or in trouble, help them out. – If you have spare supplies, please share. –…

Kitchen Cooking Gadgets… I Have Plenty!
How about that, January is almost over! Where did the month go?! This week is about how to use the cooking utensils and appliances that you use or have access to. We have kitchens and break areas full of items and appliances, but we probably don’t use them as often as we could. I know for me, I have very little time to try to cook (and I’m only cooking for 1 or 2). Here’s some ideas and tips to consider: Do a kitchen inventory of what you do have – knowing what kitchen/cooking tools, gadgets and appliances will help you figure out how you can cook better and more efficiently…

Cook It, Eat it, Enjoy It! (Food Choice Considerations)
How is your January going? I originally wrote this post for the holidays, but really this can be applied all year long! This week is about some food choice options to consider to see if they match up with your fitness goals. Enjoy, but don’t indulge: There’s magic and loved baked into some of the awesome dishes, recipes and especially for those special holiday plates and treats. Don’t skip out and miss something you enjoy! Instead eat 1 or 2 treats vs 4 or 5 and eat only 1 or 2 servings vs cleaning out the whole slow cooker. Like they say – everything in moderation… Don’t forget to eat…
