The Blogging world… the next frontier. You’re running a blog? Congrats! You’re thinking of starting a blog? Congrats, it’s an awesome, exciting world out there. You probably already know how much there is involved in the blogging – the planning, the writing, the proofreading, the publishing, the promoting, the scheduling, the social media platforms, the interaction on your blog, the interaction on your social media… there’s a lot involved. Even the best planning can’t plan for everything. Lemme ask you something? Are you prepared for if things go wonky or a complete & utter shutdown in the blogging world? Tessa Williams over at Bella Creative posted a…

How to Not Freak Out with Money
Money, Money, Money. Say it 3 times and it’ll appear in 48 hours right? What about that money tree? If you’re anything like me and any other average person, the words: money, budget, finance, investment, taxes all probably stress you the hell out. Honestly, the way things are these days, it should come as no surprise. This however, then means it comes to us to make sure that WE are responsible for OUR money and OUR actions regarding money. Money is NOT a bad thing. It’s needed for daily stuff: water and electricity bills, gas for your car, the Starbucks coffee for your weekly friend date, actually going out on a…

How Well are You Prepared?
You’ve heard it a lot: “Be Prepared!” “Rather safe than sorry!” “Always think ahead!” It probably goes in one ear and out the other by now. It’s so overused in day-to-day life. However, as annoying as it may seem, it holds a great truth. Think of the fable where the ants are hoarding grain for the winter months while the grasshopper dismisses this need to be prepared. Boy was he surprised when the winter cold came. If you’ve never heard of this fable, read here: (http://www.bartleby.com/17/1/36.html) Even well managed organizations and military establishments constantly stress this. The Marines have a motto of “Adapt, Improvise and Overcome.” The Coast Guard…

Happy September!!!
Happy September! Crazy how we’ve already gotten to September right?! Feels like the summer just started not too long ago and here we are with fall leaves going to be turning colors soon. I must say, I am so over this summer. It was insanely HOT this summer and even for Charleston, this summer was miserable and I’ve lived here my entire life. July alone had 22/31 days that were 95 above and heat indexes up to 117. Even this past weekend, we had Hurricane Hermine stop by and show us a visit here in Charleston. Nothing major, just some rain and gusty winds. NOTHING like last October with “The…

So that happened… (how to remember that you ARE successful when it sure doesn’t feel that way)
Ever had something just go horribly wrong and all you could think of was : “So… that just happened”? Yup, check. Feel like you’re stuck in a rut and not making any progress besides maybe deeper? Raise your hand if you’re the Real Slim Shady. Feel like Life has taken you down Shit Creek with only 1 paddle? Glad I’m not the only one. Why does it seem like attaining success is the greatest test and the journey is nothing more than an obstacle course? Throw in some crazy society standards, a dash of self esteem issues, a crazy work schedule, maybe a few kids, perhaps a boyfriend or…

How to Rock Back to School while Saving Money and Sanity
I’m sure you’re seeing it everywhere: Back to School Sale! Buy 2 glue sticks, get 1 free. 6 for $1 paper folders. Buy this 10 pack of highlighters, get these scissors free. Crayola crayons for 50 cents and markers for $1. Oh boy, oh boy. I am a SUCKER for school supplies. I’m 10 years since High school and 5 years since College and I still ooh and ah over the stuff. Talk about a walk down memory lane where I remember ONLY using this type of pen almost all 4 years of high school or the same cover binder that’s still available now (really?) or cooing over how cute…

How to Host a Success Party
I don’t know about you, but this summer went by so quick! It’s practically over and school time is almost upon on us. Our boys go back on the 15th and then college here starts around the 23rd. Did the summer go by as quickly for you? As we have summer draw to a close, I’d like to share a great idea to end the summer with a celebration of the moments that were created with the people you’ve met and/or shared with. Of course, like any party, you got to plan out some details first. Who do you want to invite? How are you going to invite them (paper, digital,…
