Shining Moments – September 2018 – Week 3
Hello everyone! Seriously, where has September gone?! Wasn’t it just Labor day? But guess what, it’s that time again for Shining Moments, a weekly gratitude overview and reflection. This week’s reflection is about Normalcy. I feel like this month has TOTALLY flown by, but then again with school back in session, Labor day, Hurricane Florence… I guess it was easy to get wrapped up in the chaos and business. This week’s Gratitude list: Still very thankful for not getting hit by Hurricane Florence Despite closing down work for a few days, we were able to get right back into things and back to work, so we pretty much got…

Shining Moments – September 2018 Week 2
Hello everyone! First thing: We are safe from Hurricane Florence *whew*. Hurricanes can be scary things even with all of the protection of property, evacuations and storm radar/forecasting. All of the preparedness was ready to go however if we had to. So it’s that time again for Shining Moments, a weekly gratitude overview and reflection. This week’s reflection is about Preparedness and the Simple Things. This week’s Gratitude list: Even though my Dad got into a really bad wreck, not a SINGLE scratch, mark or bruise on him. #FinalDestinationStyle Aunt’s birthday party was SO cute (steampunk tea party) Firepits We didn’t…

September Goals (+ Late Summer Update)
Hey everyone, I hope that you are having a great start to your September and your Labor Day if you’re in the US. Today is the unofficial end to the Summer. Where did the time go?! This summer went by super quick for me and my family as we had lots of changes! From May to Today, there have been 2 car accidents, 2 cars being called totalled by the insurance, other friends have been in accidents or their car has died aaaaaaaaaaaaand mine is on its last legs, there’s been a change of work (same place, different position), and training for said new position. This year has been ALL about the…

Happy Fall Y’all!
It’s the first day of Fall! How exciting is that?! It’s gonna be a great season, I can just feel it! I’m so so so so so so so excited (can you tell?) Fall is undoubtedly my favorite season. It’s just so awesome! These are just some of my favorite things to enjoy about the season: The crispness of the air, the changing of bright colored flowers and trees to darker passionate red, shining gold and burnt orange leaves, the smell of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, doing some fall cleaning (or painting a room in the house), cooking and baking, Halloween and Thanksgiving, holiday decorating, cuddling up with my…

Happy September!!!
Happy September! Crazy how we’ve already gotten to September right?! Feels like the summer just started not too long ago and here we are with fall leaves going to be turning colors soon. I must say, I am so over this summer. It was insanely HOT this summer and even for Charleston, this summer was miserable and I’ve lived here my entire life. July alone had 22/31 days that were 95 above and heat indexes up to 117. Even this past weekend, we had Hurricane Hermine stop by and show us a visit here in Charleston. Nothing major, just some rain and gusty winds. NOTHING like last October with “The…
