Shining Moments March 15th – 21st, 2020
Hello everyone, how are you doing? By now I’m sure almost everyone has been in some sort of quarantine – whether self imposed to be safe for yourself/your families, imposed by the City and State wide government or because of actually being sick. I know that I don’t need to reiterate all of the things we’ve had to update/change/cancel. We’re seriously living in an age of FOMO – Fear of Missing Out. Sure this completely blows, but let’s put it into perspective – there are 195 countries (that are recognized by the United Nations) and according to WHO (World Health Organization), there are 184 countries/territories/etc that have at least 1…

Shining Moments: March 1st – 7th, 2020
Happy March everyone! I hope that the weather has been beautiful where you’re at. It’s been mostly raining and the temp keeps changing here, so some days it’s a nice rain and other days it’s just GROSS. This week I was really focused on being able to make rent, so unfortunately my eyes weren’t as perceptive to the Shining Moments around me. While I had my moments of being bummed about it, I also know that I would be creating undue anxiety on myself if I chose to focus on that. We all have our moments of ups and downs, that’s just called Life™. I still found some good moments…

Shining Moments – Feb 23 – 29, 2020
Happy end of February and Happy beginning of March. January sure took its time, but February just FLEW on by! It’s time for another edition of Shining Moments, the weekly gratitude list. This week was my first complete week of doing Sales (mostly) on my own. Shining Moments – Last week I mentioned that I awesomely received a $100 Amazon gift card as a birthday/goodbye gift. Yay for Amazon shopping spree! It was hard to pick things that I wanted, but I was able to get Sarah Steckler‘s awesome Finding Your Way (allow me to rephrase, MANY awesome journals). I’ve been part of Sarah’s courses and followings and I always…

Kitchen Cooking Gadgets… I Have Plenty!
How about that, January is almost over! Where did the month go?! This week is about how to use the cooking utensils and appliances that you use or have access to. We have kitchens and break areas full of items and appliances, but we probably don’t use them as often as we could. I know for me, I have very little time to try to cook (and I’m only cooking for 1 or 2). Here’s some ideas and tips to consider: Do a kitchen inventory of what you do have – knowing what kitchen/cooking tools, gadgets and appliances will help you figure out how you can cook better and more efficiently…

Cook It, Eat it, Enjoy It! (Food Choice Considerations)
How is your January going? I originally wrote this post for the holidays, but really this can be applied all year long! This week is about some food choice options to consider to see if they match up with your fitness goals. Enjoy, but don’t indulge: There’s magic and loved baked into some of the awesome dishes, recipes and especially for those special holiday plates and treats. Don’t skip out and miss something you enjoy! Instead eat 1 or 2 treats vs 4 or 5 and eat only 1 or 2 servings vs cleaning out the whole slow cooker. Like they say – everything in moderation… Don’t forget to eat…

Give me the Power (of Movement)
Can you believe we’re already halfway through January?! I know that you have been killing it! To help motivate you to keep on slaying, this week I want to talk about the Power of Movement. Give me the Power… You’re always hearing about why it’s so important to move, move, move, but really… what’s so special about moving? I think these are all pretty good reasons: Moving is physically stretching your muscles vs your body all lethargic and cramped up More exercise = more oxygen to your body = your body being able to function better You’ll live longer and age better – yay! More exercise allows you to get…

Give it to me Stat…
Hello again! You might have seen last week where I suggested some apps if you had created some 2020 fitness goals. If you downloaded some of those or others (share in the comments which ones you chose!), then you’ll well on your way. As Lao Tzu, a Chinese philosopher said, “The Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” I am very proud of you for making the decision to move towards a healthier lifestyle. I know when I first started out, some of the lingo about body stats was difficult to comprehend at first. Of course, as new studies and new techniques come out, things don’t stay…
