32 Birthdays & 32 things
So today marks the day I’ve been on this Earth for 32 years… How crazy right? **No one believes I’m 32, everyone guesses about 25-28. Guess I’m aging gracefully…like a fine wine… haha** This year, I wanted to do something special. My birthday (2/17) is always a weird time: – 3 days after Valentine’s Day (but yay for discounted candy!) – tax prep season – usually freaking cold – everyone is sick/getting over being sick So since it’s 2020 + something different + it’s another birthday + turning 32 (oddly inspired by 32 flavors of ice cream haha), I wanted to do a Birthday Year bucket list. I’ve been struggling…

Oh Charleston (Part 2)
Welcome back! Are you ready for more? In this part, I show you other places in Charleston well worth the visit along with more food and drink options. Day 3 – Mount Pleasant Welcome to day 3. Today we’re heading away from the downtown peninsula and driving over the Arthur Ravenel Bridge, replacing the 2 Cooper River Bridges and opened in 2005. This bridge is a cable spanned bridge with 4 lanes on each side and with a biking/walking path connecting Mount Pleasant to the East Bay side of the peninsula. Drive towards West Coleman and at the 1st light take a right. Once past the Shell…

Oh Charleston (Part 1)
Oh Charleston… or also known as “Chal-ston” for the deep Southerners. History and Beauty run here rampant. Throw in some food and drinks and trips to the beach, why would you want to live anywhere else? Sure we can get hot here, but that’s alright, we got plenty to do to keep you busy to take your mind off that heat. We got so much to do here that we haven’t been awarded as a top destination city for nothing. While there are plenty of books and magazines and websites that tell you what to do while you’re here, trust a born/raised/living there Charleston native. These are the things…

Charleston 9 Firefighters
June itself is NOT a very good month for Charleston. Last year was a horrific tragedy where 1 man shot 9 people at the Mother Emanuel Church. Just as equally horrific, Charleston experienced another overwhelming tragedy just 9 years prior. On June 18th, 2007, 9 firefighters lost their lives in a blaze that overwhelmed the Sofa Store they were trying to put out. There had not been such a great loss of life of men honorably acting out their oaths and duties since September 11th, 2001. From 7pm to approximately 10pm, the fire raged, but it wasn’t until 4am that everyone that had gone in, but tragically not returned had been…

1 year later, Still #Charlestonstrong
#Charlestonstrong Or should I say, still #Charlestonstrong. 1 year ago today: June 17th, 2015 ——- 1 man took the lives of 9 people (and injured others) at the Mother Emanuel AME church. No one would have ever imagined the chaos that reigned that night. I know I sure didn’t. I was working late, overseeing a banquet function at the hotel I was currently working at in Mount Pleasant, with no idea the chaos that was happening on Calhoun St, Downtown Charleston. It wasn’t til I got home that I found out about the tragedy that had befallen on my city. I don’t have cable, it’s expensive but mostly because it’s just too depressing (case…
