Shining Moments – April 12th – 18th, 2020
I hope that everyone had a good Easter weekend. I can’t get over how we are already halfway through April?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Not that I’m complaining, but we’re already into the 2nd quarter of the year! This April week’s edition is just about the moments, no updates or reflection this week. Shining Moments – Still working (considered an essential) at the hotel – Still working UberEats – the Easter weekend + everyone’s April bills put a dent in it, but I’m hoping once everyone’s stimulus checks start rolling in, there will be more orders to deliver. – Easter baskets for the boys were a big hit! At least April hadย a little…

Shining Moments March 15th – 21st, 2020
Hello everyone, how are you doing? By now I’m sure almost everyone has been in some sort of quarantine – whether self imposed to be safe for yourself/your families, imposed by the City and State wide government or because of actually being sick. I know that I don’t need to reiterate all of the things we’ve had to update/change/cancel. We’re seriously living in an age of FOMO – Fear of Missing Out. Sure this completely blows, but let’s put it into perspective – there are 195 countries (that are recognized by the United Nations) and according to WHO (World Health Organization), there are 184 countries/territories/etc that have at least 1…

Shining Moments – January 12th – 18th, 2020
Can you believe we’re already halfway through January 2020? Weren’t we JUST watching the ball drop and celebrating a new year is here? This week was mostly about work (my full time job and Ubereats) and the stress regarding work was mostly about obtaining hours this week and the upcoming week.ย Even as a little stressful it was for me, I’m still in the practice of trying to find the silver lining in things. In no particular order, here goes! Shining Moments – Was able to secure a full weeks hours (40 hours, usually 5 shifts) in at work and only had to use up one vacation day – Have…

Hello again! You might have seen last week where I suggested some apps if you had created some 2020 fitness goals. If you downloaded some of those or others (share in the comments which ones you chose!), then you’ll well on your way. As Lao Tzu, a Chinese philosopher said, โThe Journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.โ I am very proud of you for making the decision to move towards a healthier lifestyle. I know when I first started out, some of the lingo about body stats was difficult to comprehend at first. Of course, as new studies and new techniques come out, things don’t stay…

June’s Reaching For the Stars
Happy June everyone! Can you believe we are already 5 months finished and almost halfway through the year?!?! It seems like we are just blowing by 2019. Since time is going so fast, it’s a good time to revisit goals made. There are some that I’m sure will not get accomplished this year, but that’s ok! May is usually a good month for me personally with reflection and new experiences or chapters in my life (college graduation, a few years ago I went on a special celebratory mountain cabin trip with close friends, music concerts and more). I had the full intention of taking May to reflect and create either…

August 2018 – Reaching for The Stars
Happy first day of August! It’s time for this month’s edition of Reaching For the Stars,ย a monthly goal post. ( Who can believe school is almost here?! ) Let’s recap July’s goals: Reallyย sit with the planner as I am readjusting to new hours: 3:30pm – 12am 5x a week (8 hrs + 30 min break) instead of varying times of 10 hour shifts 4x a week (AND getting schedule a week in advance vs the whole month in advance) Revisit, recreate and stick to new budgets since I’ll no longer have a commission check to have a cushion with. The difference between the raise I got and a normal…

July Goals – Reaching For The Stars
Happy first day of July! It’s time for this month’s edition of Reaching For the Stars,ย a monthly goal post. ( Who can believe this year is halfway over?! ) I don’t know about you, but this Summer has already been hot, hot hot!!!ย I’m talking about 95 with heat indexes up to 110-115 and it was only JUNE. Usually August is our hottest month here in Charleston, but I think we’re gonna have a contest for which is the hottest season this year. Let’s recap June’s goals: Continue the progressย I’ve made for Crescent Moon & Stars – 10 posts (5 of those being the weekly gratitude/reflection, 1 Monthly goal post)…
