Shining Moments – September 2018 Week 2
Hello everyone! First thing: We are safe from Hurricane Florence *whew*. Hurricanes can be scary things even with all of the protection of property, evacuations and storm radar/forecasting. I’m in a whirlwind of emotion… literally!
Hey everyone! I hope that you’ve all had a great week. This week has been pretty stressful for the Southeast coastal cities. I’m sure you’re already aware, but we have Hurricane Matthew out there and he’s making a big fuss. He’s already gone through Haiti and left devastation in a place that is still recovering from their earthquake a few years back and other back-to-back but less volatile storms this year. Hurricane Matthew (as of Thursday 11am) is a Category 4 storm with 140 mph winds. He is expected to hit Florida Friday Morning and Charleston Saturday Morning. Being Healthy: How to be prepared for health and stay that way
To your health! If you don’t have your health, you don’t have anything. Take your medicine! Don’t forget your vitamins! Go natural/organic! We hear and see so much regarding our health. Understandably so as health is important as we need to have healthy bodies to keep up with our lives. You go try running a marathon with the flu. (Disclaimer: I am not speaking from experience. How Well are You Prepared?
You’ve heard it a lot: “Be Prepared!” “Rather safe than sorry!” “Always think ahead!” It probably goes in one ear and out the other by now. It’s so overused in day-to-day life. However, as annoying as it may seem, it holds a great truth. Think of the fable where the ants are hoarding grain for the winter months while the grasshopper dismisses this need to be prepared.
