Happy Mother’s Day
Today is a special today, the 2nd Sunday of May and that’s Mother’s Day here in the US. I wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all types of moms – 2 legs, 4 legs, Rainbow babies, Moms-to-be and those who have mother-like spirits. All moms give great sacrifices and today I want to give a special honoring shoutout to my Mom. This woman is my rock ya’ll. She has a strength that is inspiring despite any life situation or illnesses that don’t have a positive track, she has a heart that is SOOOO giving (to family, to friends, to me as her daughter, to HUNDREDS of children that she helped…

Memorial Day
If you aren’t aware, May is Military Appreciation Month – from military children, to Armed Forces day/week, to Memorial Day. The last Monday in May is celebrated as Memorial Day, a day we honor those service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and have fallen in the line of duty. Today especially, but also every day, I would like to thank every single service member who has sacrificed in order so that we (as a nation) doesn’t have to. Today I would like to thank them for giving me provision of the rights and freedoms that I have today whether or not I exercise them (another right and…

Happy Armed Forces Day
Happy Saturday everyone and Happy Armed Forces Day. Today marks a military holiday of the 3rd Saturday in May (which btw May is Military Month!), where we celebrate our active duty military forces. Check out some of these ideas: A simple “Thank…

Happy Veteran’s Day!
Hey everyone and Happy Friday! This Friday is very special as it’s Veteran’s Day, a day where we remember and honor our Veterans, past and present. I believe that while we DEEP DOWN do support our troops, we tend to get caught up in our own lives and can sometimes forget about what a deep sacrifice our military has given. As they swear in, they are giving up their own identities, putting their current life on hold and the responsibilities that go along with being a “daily human.” They swear to God, their Branch, to Country. Their families usually take a back seat for a little bit. That’s hard.…

Charleston 9 Firefighters
June itself is NOT a very good month for Charleston. Last year was a horrific tragedy where 1 man shot 9 people at the Mother Emanuel Church. Just as equally horrific, Charleston experienced another overwhelming tragedy just 9 years prior. On June 18th, 2007, 9 firefighters lost their lives in a blaze that overwhelmed the Sofa Store they were trying to put out. There had not been such a great loss of life of men honorably acting out their oaths and duties since September 11th, 2001. From 7pm to approximately 10pm, the fire raged, but it wasn’t until 4am that everyone that had gone in, but tragically not returned had been…
