Shining Moments: July 10th-16th, 2022
It’s been awhile since I posted this year as it’s been an insane/crazy/busy year, but I’ve really been wanting to get back into writing these posts. This week has been about small things, food and shopping.
Shining Moments
– Got free smoothies for me and babe. They were having tech issues and by the time they tried to run my card, the system said “NOPE, not today.” I offered to come back later to pay for them, but he said not to worry about it
– Babe got to see a hummingbird at the feeder we have outside finally! He’s seen them flit by, but never stationary
– While he didn’t have his first 2 appointments for the day, he was able to take me to work and keep the car during NASTY weather we had that day
– Got to see a rainbow after a different storm
– Pizza/breadsticks/wings & TV in bed and then pizza leftovers the next day
– Got new scrunchie butt pants in 3 new colors (and 1 of them came with matching jacket)
– My Torrid order came in, beautiful Galaxy set. I’ve been window shopping for this set, so I’m happy it was on sale.
– My E.L.F order came in – so happy that I was able to still get the Pride edition of the mascara. Proceeds to go an organization and I love shopping with E.L.F.
– My Purslane vine is SUPER happy. A piece broke off during watering – I apologized to it, but threw the broken piece over our balcony. It actually rooted AND flowered! The same plant in the pot hasn’t even flowered yet!
– It was National Mac & Cheese day and while I would have loved to make one from scratch, I was working a closing shift that night, so thanks Chick-Fil-A for coming in a pinch!
– Had some REALLY good Raising Cane’s chicken but my heart is that Texas toast. I am IN LOVE with their bread!!!!!!!!!!!!!
– It was POURING the other day at work & since I work at a spa/salon now, we have shower caps. We all looked ridiculous, so we took a funny pic together
– Sampled a new-to-me shampoo at work (trying to swap & get hair healthy again) — it smelled great AND left my hair SOOOOO soft. Might have found the one
– Babe made dinner since I was still stuck at work (was 2.5 hours later than expected). It tasted sooooooooo good
– Staying late 2x earlier in the week and that 2.5 hour later night should put me into overtime, which I definitely need the funds to get caught back up in Finance Land
Progress on 2022’s List & Weekly Self-Care
*For the full 2022 list, check out my list here: Welcoming 2022 (Word of the Year, Goals & Intentions)
2022 List
– Nothing to update
Weekly Self Care
- Gym/Movement: didn’t go. I had planned out some times to go to gym, but had to change up my schedule
- Reading: haven’t been in a mood to read this week nor think my brain could have handled trying to process words haha
- 52 Lists/Prompts: just like reading, same thing, but I think I will take my next few days off to really sit down with them as they are good prompts
- Church online/Small group: I didn’t watch online as schedule/late work class trainings didn’t allow for it
- Generosity: I can’t say that I can think of something that really made an impact in my opinion
- Cleaning/Organization: I did laundry like a responsible adult, but that’s about it haha
- Finances Check: I can say this mostly got done. I had to revisit a little bit.
On my daily list, I am happy to say that I’ve done some form of skin care almost every day this week. There was one day my skin was angry, so I left it alone to not make it angrier.
Reflection
I’m realizing that there are some things that are triggering me (especially during times of stress) and I can process those things. However, I do feel like there are some unknown triggers and while it’s a uncomfortable/weird feeling, I’m that that I’ve grown enough to be able to recognize these things. Hopefully working on the prompt books will lead to some kind of realization. Doing a brain dump will hopefully help me figure out those unknown triggers.
Let’s all shine bright together…
